Supplier Diversity & Why it is important?

supplierdiversitybannerSupplier diversity is one of the procurement trends that is picking up well in International market and quite quickly adopted by few of the successful established companies. In India, Garg Sports International has in placed this system in its procurement and production strategies. Thumb rule of Supplier diversity is system cannot be dependent on homogeneous teams so procurement was allowed from pool of vendors which is rich in diverse background, ethnicity and experience

Garg Sports International found this system quite effective in order to offer a sustainable and uninterrupted production of goods and also meeting client’s expectation with time constraint, cost management and quality compliance.

Initially instead of running our own set up for production, we had to develop our pool of vendors and relying on them for production has produced lot of hitches as time management and quality control was difficult to manage. But later as pool of vendor grew and vendors were educated with quality of the item, many things started improving.

There are many false stigmas attached to this business tool but if implemented well and constantly review at each stage of development with bottlenecks tackled during these stages itself then surely manufacturing system breathes. Diversity is felt in our team & skilled workforce; it has become a management elixir due to which production is not halt anytime round the year.

GSI journey began as a quality carom board manufacturer, and later it developed set up for plastic blow & injection molding goods, stitching of goods and metal fabrication.

GSI is the leading exporter of physical education equipment, agility & soccer training equipment and goal posts due to its evolving structure and simple philosophies.
