SPORTS, LOVE & PEACE

sports & peace.jpg
Can sports integrate the world, communities, belief & religion together?

Sports is a perfect remedy to ease out tension, anxiety and infuse life with fun and energy. At grassroots or community level sports creates an ecosystem to develop human being and nurture them with quality of sportsmanship. Sportsmanship teaches ethos of good sports where there is a good winner and good loser. It teaches virtues of fairness, courage, self control and persistence which are important elements of living good life and respecting other lives.

A childhood is the perfect age to teach qualities of good sports so that at stage of adulthood they learn to ‘Let it Go’ at times when rage, anger & hunger for power overwhelms them.

Sports as a non verbal communication is considered to be one of the effective tool for transformative impact and bringing out youth who may have grown up in an environment of hate and intolerance.

It is a universal language, a powerful tool to promote peace, tolerance and understanding by bringing together people across boundaries, culture and religions.

We should encourage sports and GSI promotes sports by complying not only with local but international regulations and the product performance stays on par with the ever changing competitive landscape of the sports manufacturing industry.

India is second most populated country after China. It might be the world largest democratic country, with amazing Indians around the world known for power, fame and money or intellect. But ,what about Sports, why are we lagging in this sector?

It is not we do not have players or champions to play and represent our country India at International level but  due to a lack of proper coaching, facilities and support they cannot reach on top.

Why we have few Saina Nehwal, Sachin Tendulker, Sushil Kumar, Sania Mirza ?  Yes there is a new concept sprawling in India which is ‘Grassroot Sports’ this concept sports federations, commercial players, hoc projects and individuals are organizing sports activities targeting the public for  increasingly diverse sports sector.

50 SHADES OF PLASTIC

“Beauty of plastic products lies in age & price.”

color_pilesLG

It’s been more than 25 years that I am associated with sports industry. I have witnessed market demands drifting from wooden to plastic industry.

When I began my journey with Sports Goods Manufacturing Industry, the only goods that were demanded by Buying houses or Client’s in India or Overseas Market was wooden, as I was dealing with more of Carrom Boards & Cricket Bat. Soon I realized that future lies in plastic goods due to its ergonomic properties. Gradually an infant plastic industry turned into mammoth share of the market.

Plastic offers broad spectrum of quality & price that gives tailored product to fit in demands of each client. Logistic cost was an inevitable burden on any product price, that has came down competitively for plastic goods. Manufacturer’s job is made easy with limitless application from single mould of the item.

Phthalate-freeHowever, plastic seems useful material but it has dangerous strings attached to it. The extent of exploitation of plastic is unimaginable and never ending.  It is our social & ethical responsibility to be careful with type of plastic raw material which we use in making goods for consumer.

(Garg Sports International is expert in plastic products and uses raw material LDPE, HDPE, PP & PVC.)

NEED OF HOUR IS OUTDOOR PLAY

toyrus_banner_766x300_outdoor_play_1_

“It’s been a week that a soccer ball in the garden is still waiting to be kicked by that young boy who is busy with his new toy i phone “

what's it about“Nature deficit disorder” the condition of being disconnected or separated from nature and the natural world. This disorder conveys the condition of today’s generation who lack personal connection to nature. Reason behind is home based leisure technology. This technology is expensive and brings home different disorders when dependent on it for a longer run. It is also an aggravating reason, why we see children spending less and lesser time in outdoor activities.

addictionNeed of hour is an innovative product range or may be touch up to old fashion outdoor play. Whatever it is, it should attract lazy bones and ignite the sleeping sporty genes of a couch potato.

‘Play’ is the most basic physical activity which is a necessity of each child for a holistic growth. The best time spent with family is play. Outdoor play is a multi sensory activity, brings together informal & formal learning and stimulates creativity.

what's inAt Garg Sports International, we seek out new items or renovating old games with our clients to flourish the sports landscape for generation next. We offer a facility to each of our client that gives them enormous flexibility to develop their own product in tune with their specifications.

I believe that it is the outdoor activities that inculcate leadership skills & problem solving habits; reducing anxiety & stress. Each of us can be a great learner & a positive human being, by opening ourselves to Mother Nature.

EVERY CHILD HAS A RIGHT TO A CHILDHOOD

CHILD LABOR FREE

  • Why a child has to dump his education over livelihood; it could be he/she is the only way for family to survive.
  • Despite endless efforts from International & national organisation why world is not able to eradicate Child Labour?

In any country, child labour will survive and thrive until the issues that lead to it are not resolved completely; 1) Poverty 2) Lack of Quality Schools 3) Cheap Labour.

However, it does not mean that without resolving these three factors we cannot afford to have child labour free country. Power to bring change even lies with consumers. If a consumer ensures that they buy goods only from Child Labour Free Establishments then this small activity can bring change at a larger scale.

At Garg Sports International (GSI) such standards & measurements are enforced that it has created an environment for all its employees that they are made aware of 1) Importance of education 2) Youth Employment and 3) Respect of work.

At GSI we practice what we say; transparency and honesty with our clients has managed us to develop retention and loyalty. We have always welcome our client for third party inspection for full transparency, hoping a stronger relationship.

I certainly believe that “GOODS ARE GOOD IF FREE FROM CHILD LABOUR”.

Make in India vs Make in China?

picture one

Make in India vs Make in China, is a huge umbrella with nexus of policy makers, exporters, manufacturers, and many more whose business is aligned towards it. I believe there is no black and white answer for which country will thrive in Global Manufacturing Landscape.

Global chinapundit states that considering emerging trends in China & India, China is drifting towards automation and robotics while India with its core strength of human resource is growing leaps and bound.

Here’s my say on it :picture two

India has always scored better on China for western exposure, understanding client’s requirement and credibility. The recent reforms and positive bred export ecosystem assists Indian manufacturers to overcome major hindrances – COST & SCALABILITY.

Trust me , we have lot to give to our buyers now.

Team India Plays Football Barefoot at Dhaka

cricket teamCricketers of team India came back on the field after a day’s rest, however this time they returned for a game of football. Reports suggest that the players were made to play the game barefoot. Many people believed that it was a bad decision to ask the players to play football like that. The reason – a big game of ICC Twenty20 semi-final against South Africa is set for Friday.

The players and members of the coaching staff entered the field bare feet and played for an hour at the Bangladesh Cricket Board Academy ground.

According to India Today, the players were asked to play the game without shoes. Virat Kohli entered the field wearing shoes. Outside the field Stuart Binny was tying the laces of his second shoe and this was when Shikhar Dhawan came up to him and asked to get rid of them.

Indian team used to play kho-kho before the matches and practice sessions. However, this practice was scraped from the schedule after Yuvraj Singh and Rohit Sharma sustained injuries in 2006 and 2010.

“Trainer Sudarshan VP wanted the boys to play barefoot. There’s no reason that I can give you,” R.N. Baba, team manager said.

“We [Pakistani team] used to play barefoot often. They play barefoot so as to escape injuries through shoe spikes,” Shoaib Akhtar, Pakistani pacer said to MAIL TODAY.

Debashis Chowdhury, chief medical officer of the Bangladesh Cricket Board mentioned some of the advantages of running barefoot.

“Playing or running barefoot on uneven terrain activates the foot bones and they become functional, something that they don’t when you run with your shoes on because then the muscles become dormant.”

Check out the collection of cricket equipment at Garg Sports International, here.
